Today’s Topic : Belt of Truth
The first piece of armor Paul discusses is the belt of truth. In Ephesians 6:14, he says, “Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist.” Of all of the pieces of the armor of God, you may be wondering why Paul started with the belt ? Let’s look into it.
Reason 1: Jesus is The Truth.
It is fitting that the “Belt of Truth” is the first piece of the whole armor of God. JESUS is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6) and it is only through JESUS that we come to God. Therefore, Truth, is of the utmost importance in the life of a Christian. Without truth, the rest of the armor would be of no use to us because we would not have the Spirit of truth.
Reason 2: Truth holds The Sword (The Word of God).
Also, The belt of truth is designed to encircle us. As a support for the scabbard that holds our sword, the Word of God, it protects us and keeps us safe.
Reason 3: Truth allows us to Follow God, Completely.
Truth allows us to follow God without deviating from the right path.Putting on the armor of God means dedicating ourselves to truth and trusting God to guide our steps along the way.
