Dear Jesus Generation,
Welcome to another session of learning.
I was reading a billboard the other day which says “If your eyes are positive, the world is good to you, but if your tongue is positive, you are good to the world”.
Indeed Words are very powerful. They have the potential to create and destroy. Words create an image, they define, they shape, they build, they break and they always reveal what's in the heart.
Now let us see, what does the Bible talk about words ??? What should be our daily vocabulary???
Proverbs 16:24 says,
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Proverbs 15:1 says,
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 10:21 says,
The lips of the righteous FEED MANY, but fools die for lack of understanding
Proverbs 15:23 says,
A man has joy in an apt answer and how delightful is a timely word.
Proverbs 15:4 says,
A soothing tongue is a tree of life...
Matthew 12:36,37 says
But I (Jesus) say to you, that every idle word that men speak, they will give an account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified and by your words, you will be condemned.
I hope you understood by now. Let’s use kind and Godly words not only to bring LIFE to the people around us but also to bring GLORY to God's name.
